We visit the region

Forty kilometers south of Bordeaux, the village of Sainte-Croix-du-Mont has a remarkable natural curiosity: the panoramic plateau on which it is built has formed a huge oyster fossil bed accumulated during the tertiary age. This huge layer, several meters thick, in some areas are a home to huge spectacular caves.
