Wine, a heritage to be discovered on the 20th and 21st September

The 2014 European Days of Heritage are taking place on the 20 and 21 September. On this occasion, the châteaux of the Sweet appellation Cadillac invite you to the Balades Patrimoine en Cadillac Côtes de Bordeaux.

Discover the secrets of the winemaking châteaux

« Cultural heritage, natural heritage » is the theme of this 31st edition 2014 European Days of Heritage. An ideal event to discover the identity of the Cadillac Côtes de Bordeaux territory, explains Laetitia Cartier, manager of wine tourism development at the Cadillac Maison des Vins. Be it through the history of the winemaking châteaux or « the hilly landscapes » she describes, you can discover the Sweet Bordeaux Cadillac wines. Many châteaux open their doors to allow you to discover their sweet Bordeaux wines: Château Birot in Beguey, Château du Cros in Loupiac, Château Lamothe and Château Peneau in Haux, as well as Château Fayau and Château Lardiley in Cadillac. They will be open to the public for free.

Discover the Sweet Cadillac flavors

For two days, each château welcomes you to share with you their passion, their know-how, and to make you taste their Sweet Bordeaux Cadillac wines. Anne Neel, one of the owners of Château Lamothe insists on the human dimension of the event. She explains she wants the members of the public to feel « why they love their château, for its human past, for its beauty, for its history ». At Château Peneau, you can discover the wines of Dany Douence, the château manager: « Our Côtes de Bordeaux terroir produces fresh, easy-to-drink wines”, she explains. Moreover, she suggests pairing them with « pheasant and sole fish ». All those winemakers are waiting for you for this unmissable rendez-vous around heritage and Sweet Bordeaux wines!
