Sweet Bordeaux, masterclass and dinner in Chicago
From the 12th to the 15th September 2016, the Sweet Bordeaux are in Chicago, at the prestigious Bistro Voltaire and at importers’. Several masterclasses are scheduled, as well as a dinner paired with the Sweet Bordeaux wines. Have you ever tried a Sauternes with a roast chicken? It’s time to think outside the box!
Sweet Bordeaux Masterclass in Chicago
On the 12th, 13th and 14th of September 2016, masterclasses are held at US importers’ and around tables at Bistro Voltaire in Chicago. This French restaurant is close to Lake Michigan in Illinois. On the 15th September, a masterclass will take place at an importer’. Those masterclasses will provide an opportunity to explain the unique know-how linked to the Sweet Bordeaux, with the botrytis harvest for a beautiful aromatic concentration. Participants in the masterclass will also take the time to discover the ten Sweet Bordeaux appellations. If the best known is Sauternes, the other nine (Loupiac, Graves Supérieurs, Premières Côtes de Bordeaux, Cérons, Barsac, Sainte-Croix-du-Mont, Cadillac, Bordeaux Supérieur and Cote de Bordeaux Saint-Macaire) each have their peculiarities and have a freshness and a nice fruitiness.
Dinner pairing food with Sweet Bordeaux
Sweet Bordeaux wines are not just dessert wines, they are also very pleasant as aperitifs or to accompany a variety of dishes during a meal. Tuesday, 13th September at 20:00, a dinner pairing dishes with Sweet Bordeaux wines will take place at Bistro Voltaire in Chicago. Roasted Scallops? Roast chicken? Sea bass? Roquefort cheese? You will discover what the chef will have chosen to prepare, among those dishes that go subtly with the Sweet Bordeaux.
