2015 Vintage: first successful tastings

Frédéric Lalande is a veteran of primeurs for the Bordeaux sweet white wines. The owner of Château Piada (Barsac) produces Sauternes and Cérons appellations wines. During the primeurs, the winemaker offered to journalists and wine professionals to enjoy a 2015 vintage landmark.

2015 was a very good year. It’s quite rich, there is volume and good acidity. For me, 2015 was the first time I picked up with natural riches beyond my expectations, even for my second wine. Overall, it is a very good vintage“.

2015, a Sweet Bordeaux vintage that keeps for a long time

To enjoy a bottle of the 2015 vintage, you will have to wait a year. The first bottling will take place early 2017 and the last will be made in late summer and early autumn 2017. Till then, the Sweet Bordeaux appellation wines will slowly continue their ageing. You can then decide to drink this 2015 vintage young or leave it for years. Frédéric Lalande believes that this is a vintage that will stay with us for a long time.

Once bottled, it will be delicious to drink a year later. The 2015 vintage is – at least – a vintage that will keep for 50 years. There is good acidity, these wines are long keepers“.
