Sweet Bordeaux wines cross the Atlantic and get tasted in New York
After Belgium, Sweet Bordeaux wines were in New York City on Wednesday, 16th September for a presentation of the different AOCs.
In partnership with the Bordeaux and Bordeaux Supérieur wines, a tasting of several AOCs was offered to more than 200 professionals: journalists, wine merchants, importers, sommeliers and restauranteurs. In the heart of Manhattan, the public could admire the Empire State building from the room’s roof top along with great wines.
A masterclass was organized on a matching food and sweet wines theme. 20 professionals: wine educator, journalists, importers and restauranteurs attended this year. The quality of the wines and their aromatic complexity were emphasized and in particular, the diversity of pairings to offer with simple or refined dishes.
4th biggest market volume-wise, the US and New York in particular, represent a market that continues to grow and where trends are created.
Moreover, the professionals indicated that sweet wines in general were back in fashion, and that the food and wine experiences should be carried on.
